FutureCraft
Project type
Futures Thinking Game Design
Date
May 2025

Futurecraft, a card-based game I designed and tested with students to activate systems thinking, sustainability values, and long-term thinking. The cards combine problems, technologies, and nature-based solutions, and futuristic ideas encouraging players to prototype regenerative futures.
The team’s goal is to conceive a viable and imaginative solution to
a pressing global problem - by drawing on nature’s wisdom,
leveraging emerging technologies, and creatively navigating real-
world constraints.
There is no singular winning idea. Victory lies in ingenuity, clarity,
and your ability to make the improbable seem inevitable.
Through this tool, I aim to promote intergenerational fairness, encouraging young people to challenge dominant narratives and imagine futures that are equitable, joyful, and ecologically grounded. The players had to then practice pitching of their ideas to the rest of the team and gather feedback.
It will also address the opportunities and risks of emerging technologies through a critical, participatory lens. I care about this project deeply because, coming from a country that's still rebuilding its present, few spaces exist where people can safely imagine the long-term. Through including this game in schools and tech courses for the youth, I aim to fill that void - and help shape a new narrative for Kosovo, led by its next generation.
This game was produced as part of the BeVisioneers - Mercedes Benz Fellowship.
