Ars Electronica Solutions, a division of the Ars Electronica Center, crafts innovative, tailor-made solutions for exhibitions, museums, brands, and events, aiming to inspire through creative storytelling and foster positive change on Earth.
For the 2023 Ars Electronica Festival, held in Linz, Austria, I led the design and project management of interactive, multisensory exhibition experiences. My approach to the festival’s theme, “Who owns the truth?”, employed a blend of conceptual design and technical ingenuity to challenge perceptions and provoke thought.
Central to the exhibit was the use of mirrors as a metaphor for the multifaceted nature of truth. Each mirror reflected the unique perspective of the viewer, underscoring the subjective and layered dimensions of truth. Photovoltaic sensors, integrated into the installation, interacted with light and shadows, transmitting data to an analogue synth that generated soundscapes based on visitor interactions, creating a dynamic and immersive experience.
I also contributed hand-drawn illustrations for the Deep Space 8K manuals, which were showcased on a custom-designed wooden frame. Collaborating closely with the project manager and technical team at Ars Electronica Solutions, the frame emphasized the intersection of art, technology, and craftsmanship, resonating with the festival's innovative spirit.
The installation not only reflected the theme but also invited participants to engage with it personally, challenging their understanding of truth in a tangible, sensory way.
